Committee Structure
A large part of the Council's business is conducted through its Executive Committee and four standing committees.
The Executive Committee is responsible for agenda setting, financial oversight, and acting for the Council between meetings and during the summer.
The Francophone Affairs Committee provides advice pertaining to French-language issues and makes recommendations to the Council on external appointments and reappointments to the boards of the two French-language colleges.
The Governance Committee makes recommendations to the Council on external appointments and reappointments to the 22 English-language college boards, provides advice and support on governance issues, conducts studies and reviews on governance topics, and develops governance resources.
The Human Resources Committee makes recommendations to the Council on matters related to collective bargaining and a broad range of HR issues.
The Premier's Awards Committee co-ordinates the annual Premier's Awards event, "profiles" the nominees, produces the recipients' video and directs the partnership program with corporate sponsors.
